Meera Sankar, MD
Dr. Meera Sankar is the current Secretary of CAN. She is a Clinical Neonatology Faculty at Stanford University with several years of versatile experience across private and academic clinical settings. Over the course of her career, Dr. Sankar served in various administrative and leadership positions and was the site Principal Investigator for several multicenter clinical studies sponsored by the Center for Education and Research at Mednax. Dr. Sankar’s clinical research interest is related to examining factors related to patent ductal arteriosus (PDA) closure in preterm infants. She is on the WSPR Council and also is a Board member of the local CA Chapter 1. She is the current Chair for the CAN research committee and led a multicenter study of transcutaneous bilirubin use in extremely preterm infants in California NICU’s. Dr. Sankar values the collaborative and enthusiastic spirit of the CAN Board to advance the CAN mission to improve the healthcare of newborns in California and beyond
